Advocacy

Many Myanmar citizens make unregistered crossing by boat into Thailand to seek work or trade goods in the border of Mae Sot.

Knowledge Circle Foundation promotes knowledge sharing and broad policy dialogue on issues affecting the process of transition across Southeast Asia by organizing workshops and conferences in cooperation with national and international organizations. The workshops organized at the national levels are designed to inform critical stakeholders and to strengthen indigenous capacity for decision-making. International conferences are organized  jointly with research and academic institutions, and geared to promoting awareness and facilitating cooperation on building democracy in Ute region. TIle topics covered in Ute past conferences include humanitarian assistance in political emergencies, community-based reconciliation in transition and electoral system design and management.

Myanmar citizens wait patiently at a migration station on the Friendship Bridge near the Thai border town of Mae Sot.

Networking: We also participate in policy advocacy by actively seeking cooperation and networking with international and national organizations, serving as a sounding board for new initiatives and creative ideas to enhance Ute confidence of cooperation among stakeholders.
